American flags flown to commemorate the three airman killed in a 2018 wreck were removed from the Cloverdale overpass after they were vandalized to read "PRAY TO UR GOD".

Despite anticipated legal challenges, Idaho House unanimously passes death penalty for child sex abuse

The US Supreme Court ruled that the death penalty for the rape of a child was unconstitutional in 2008, but Idaho lawmakers expect the Court would rule differently today and hope to tighten Idaho's penalties for sexual abuse of minors.

Governor Little signs bill expanding the scope of Idaho death investigations

Following a report showing that Idaho had the lowest rate in the nation of homicide autopsies, Governor Little has signed into law a new bill expanding the conditions under which a coroner investigation into a death is required.

Linder overpass project to begin on March 24th

The Linder overpass project will officially begin on March 24th. Phase 1 of the project will expand and extend Linder south of the freeway. Phase 2, slated for mid-2026, will include construction of the overpass and expansion of Linder north of the freeway.

Bill permitting voluntary refusal of evacuation orders signed into law

The bill allows individuals to refuse evacuation orders during emergencies. If an individual refuses an evacuation order and subsequently must be rescued, they will be required to reimburse the government agency that performed the rescue.

BSU President Marlene Tromp announced as sole finalist for University of Vermont presidency

Following a 6 month search, the UVM Board of Trustees announced on Monday that Tromp is the only finalist for the school's vacant presidency. Tromp has been BSU's president since 2019.
